Minister of Communication and Minister of Human Development resigned

Juan Carlos Mendoza and María Fullmen Salazar resigned on Tuesday. Mendoza had served as Minister of Communication since the beginning of this administration and Salazar was in charge of the Ministry of Human Development and Social Inclusion.

Mendoza will now be replaced by Nancy Marín, who until today served as Deputy Minister of Social Dialogue. Marín defined the rendering of accounts of the government’s work in the improvement of the quality of life of citizenship as the central axis of its management. She also assured that it will promote the strengthening of the relationship between the State and society in search of citizen participation in decision-making.

Salazar will be replaced by Juan Luis Bermúdez, who had been acting as advisor to the President’s Office. Bermudez indicated that he will prioritize attention to families headed by women, people with disabilities, indigenous populations and households with intra-family violence. One of his objectives is to improve the labor skills of the population living in poverty and unemployment with the support of the INA, the MTSS and the MEP.
