On Wednesday, Juan Marín, legislator from the National Liberation Party, questioned the appointment of Ana Cristina Trejos on the board of the Banking Mortgage Bank (BANHVI) in the Legislative Assembly
Marín believes this appointment may be illegal based on what is stated in Article 15, paragraph C of the Law of the National Financial System, which states that those who are suspended or banned from the exercise of their professions, may not be designated as members of the Board of Directors.
Then everyone should be a professional incorporated into a professional association for the purpose of not falling into the issues of being disabled or suspended from the exercise of their profession,
said the legislator.
Trejos is a student of microbiology, but he has not finished her major.
Therefore, Marín will consult the Attorney General about the legality of the appointment. Trejos was sworn in by the Governing Council as the new member of the BANVHI board on Tuesday.
The former deputy minister was appointed following a speedy procedure, to designate her as an ad honorem advisor to the Deputy Minister of Youth the day after she resigned from the Housing Ministry.
