About 100 pets, including cats and dogs, were neutered as part of an animal welfare campaign led by the National Animal Protection Association (ANPA). The activity took place this Saturday at the Oxgencia shopping center, located in San Francisco de Heredia.
The only condition for animals to be neutered was that their owners carry a food package, for dogs or cats, with the aim of strengthening the food bank for the animal rescue shelter.
It has been a very impressive experience, given the number of people who have attended,”
said Marielos Mata, a volunteer who participated in the event.
According to ANPA, the objective of this campaign was to join efforts for animal welfare and they emphasize that many people were interested in attending even though they had not scheduled an appointment.
In addition to this event, a second major neutering event will take place on October 4th, the day of San Francisco de Asís, in that same commercial establishment.
