More than 3-meter high waves are expected in the Pacific

The National Emergency Commission (CNE) said that as of November 14th, the country will have the second highest tide of the year on the national coasts.

The CNE received a report from Omar Lizano, Coordinator of the Oceanographic Information Module (MIO) of the University of Costa Rica (UCR), that indicates that the phenomenon is produced by the proximity of the full moon and the autumn equinox.

The recommendations provided by the CNE are to be careful of the strong waves and removing beach furniture and water equipment. In addition, they recommended to anchor the boats or jet skis and not risking the tourists with activities in the water while the tide is high.
