Last October, the Municipality of San José gave a new deadline for the eviction of the Crafts and Painting Market in the 13th Street. However, this was not meet, again.
Now, the municipality awarded new improvement works in the new Crafts Market, located southwest of Plaza de la Democracia in San José.
This represents a new investment of ¢100 million, in a space that cost the city about ¢1,800 million.
Marcelo Solano, head of the Municipal Police and a spokesman assigned by the MSJ to discuss the issue, said they reached an agreement with the artisans, in the last months of 2016.
The works were awarded in December and the order to start was given on January 9th and they are currently working on improvements to the market, which are: the remodeling of the main facade, the roof of the parking lot, replacing some ramps and an extension in the food area,”
said Solano.
These works are expected to be ready by the second half of February. After this, the craftsmen will move some of the positions in the market.
