MSP and SNG angry for subject’s release

The police action deployed by the Ministry of Public Security (MSP) and the National Coast Guard Service (SNG) to capture four suspects in international drug trafficking was insufficient.

By decision of a judge of the Criminal Court of Limón, the subjects were released on Thursday without precautionary measures, although they carried 1.1 tons of marijuana.

It did not take many minutes for MSP and Public Force authorities to express their discomfort with the decision, which is understandable, taking into account the police deployment carried out these cases.

Apparently, the drug was brought from Jamaica to Limón in a boat that was intercepted by the authorities 75 kilometers of Limón with no registration papers.

Noticing the police presence, the men began throwing several packages into the sea.

Karolina Martinez, deputy prosecutor of Limón, announced that they filed an appeal at second instance and hope to get preventive detention against the suspects.
