According to Enio Cubillo, director of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the companies Nature Air and Air Costa Rica got their operation certificates indefinitely suspended.
In the case of Nature Air, the company has not resumed flights despite being authorized to do so since last February, so its operation certificate was suspended on April 19th. The company is also under judicial investigation to determine the causes of the incident that occurred on the last day of 2017 in Guanacaste, where 12 people lost their lives.
Ten days before the suspension of Nature Air, the same procedure was applied to Air Costa Rica. This company started its charter operations a little over a year ago, after overcoming a long process. The reasons behind suspension of this airline have an administrative nature.
