Since Monday, a total of 27 institutions have submitted the request for a declaration of illegality of the strike called by the unions.
On Tuesday, the National Insurance Institute (INS), the Legislative Assembly and the Joint Social Assistance Institute (IMAS) were presented new petitions.
The INS requested the declaration of illegality before the Court of San Ramón because of the effect that the movement has caused in the provision of services from the West Headquarters.
The institution alleges that
the right to strike is limited if the essential requirements for its development are not met.”
On the other hand, Antonio Ayales, Executive Director of the Legislative Assembly, raised the request before the Attorney General’s Office, under the representation of the Union of Legislative Workers (Utraleg).
According to Ayales, based on article 383 of the Labor Code, the workers and the trade union organization did not comply with the provisions and requirements stipulated in articles 371, 377 and 381 of the same Code.
The IMAS also presented its request before the Labor Court of the Judicial Circuit of San José, specifying that the officials who participated in the strike movement did not follow the minimum requirements established by the Labor Code.
As confirmed by María Fullmen, Minister of Human Development and Social Inclusion and Executive President of IMAS, Salazar, of the 1,161 people who work at the institution, only 15 officials took part in the strike.
