The story of the Panama Papers went viral around the world after being in the front page in virtually all the media of the planet, and now it comes to the big screen from Netflix’s hand.
According to an article by ABC.es, the American filmmaker Steven Soderbergh confirmed three weeks ago that he’s preparing a film that will tell the journalistic investigation into the leak of millions of documents that revealed serious cases of tax evasion by politicians, celebrities and businessmen from dozens of countries.
To tell the story in a movie, Netflix made an alliance with John Wells. The case of the Panama Papers was told in the pages of the book that bears the same name. Netflix’s owners want to immortalize the financial scandal by buying exclusive rights to the literary work.
