New Health Area in Nicoya will benefit 63 thousand people

The new headquarters of the Santa Cruz de Guanacaste area will have a cost over ¢ 13 billion and its estimated construction period is one year.

The work was awarded on April 12th, 2018 by the Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) to the Central American Building Company Rapiparedes (Edificar SA).

The construction is expected to start in the coming weeks as, according to the engineer José Miguel Paniagua, head of the work contract, the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) dismissed a claim that had been filed against the awarding.

According to the CCSS, the new work will benefit 63 thousand people and was valued at ¢ 13,886,044,637. This new facilities are expected to provide a space for nutrition services, psychology, internal medicine, teaching and education, ultrasounds, and X-rays. In addition, the services of family and community medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as emergencies, laboratory, and pharmacy will be expanded.
