Katherine Murillo experienced what it was like to go cold and thirsty during chemotherapy sessions when she was diagnosed with cancer, so she devised a special kit for women who must face these treatments and with the help of a sponsor designed the utensils that will be delivered to cancer patients of the Hospitals San Juan de Dios and Mexico.
The package includes a blanket, socks, a water bottle, a headscarf and special pajamas for patients who must receive this type of treatment.
According to the head of Medical Oncology of San Juan de Dios Hospital, Ileana González, the waiting time between the suspicion and the ultrasound can take a month and a half, and each year there are 300 new cases of breast cancer.
Katherine is a patient who, in the middle of her treatment, designed a kit and made it come true with the help of Chevrolet. Now the patients can have a better stay in the hospital when they come to their treatment sessions.
Alma Fuerte (strong soul) was born during my process of 52 chemotherapy sessions that lasted a year, and during which I saw the needs of women, so I designed the kit thinking of them,”
explained the woman.
Alma Fuerte has a Facebook page and if you want more information you can also call 8358/8050.
