New School in Cartago will benefit 280 children

The new facilities of Mesén Street School in La Unión of Cartago were built to prevent both overcrowding and the effects of the floods. Geological criteria of the National Emergency Commission were used to its construction.

Luis Guillermo Solís, President of the Republic, inaugurated the school, which has 14 classrooms, a cafeteria, administrative areas, restrooms, parking lot and cellars.

It is expected that the measures taken in the school construction will prevent the educational process to be affected by floods, as it was in previous years.
