Nicaragua found 7 bodies in the Pacific

August 3, 2017 by Staff News Writer

Nicaraguan media confirmed the discovery of at least 7 bodies floating on the Pacific coast of the Department of Carazo, in the sector known as Cáceres, about 70 kilometers from the capital, Managua.

The National Police and the Naval Force indicated that due to the strong swell it has been difficult to carry other bodies to the coast.

The authorities indicated that, according to the characteristics of the first body, it might be a person of African origin, so the first hypothesis is that they were migrants in a shipwreck.

One year ago, on August 1st, 2016, the Nicaraguan authorities found the bodies of 8 migrants in the Department of Rivas.
