No more express cocaine in San José

On Wednesday, officers from the Drug Control Police (PCD) of the Ministry of Public Security arrested one of the leading dealers of cocaine and marijuana in Coco Beach, Guanacaste.

The 35-year-old Costa Rican national named Quirós was investigated by the police after receiving anonymous calls and information from the local law enforcement.

The man has a history of drug trafficking, a crime for which he had been arrested twice before, and in 2008 he was linked to a homicide.

According to the investigations, Quirós operated in San José, near a school, with the “express” modality, i.e., taking doses of marijuana and cocaine to where customers requested it, always in a vehicle.

Upon his arrest, the police seized 30 doses of cocaine and 39 doses of marijuana. They also seized 262,150 colones and $ 234 from the illegal business.

Quirós is now waiting for precautionary measures. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
