The “Obnis” app created by Costa Rican began training drivers and promises to unseat Uber soon.
Although there has been no official statement of when they will formally start operations, it is expected to be later this month.
A driver named Blanco told the press most people interested in providing the service are Uber drivers who are tired of the policies of that company, so they hope Obnis keeps its promises.
There were 70 people in the shift I joined and only 1 was not an Uber driver. They all registered and will work with the 2 applications. Obnis’ idea is removing Uber from the country. They were very focused on customer service for drivers, something that Uber doesn’t do, they just remove them from the application without justification,”
said Blanco.
While Uber charges drivers 25% of their income, Obnis charges 15% and the application will work like the existing one, with the difference that it will not accept payment in cash.
On the web page of the application there are details that give the opportunity for users to send documents, merchandise or move safely.
We want to be the first Central American company to provide solutions to the daily problems of transferring equipment, materials, documents and people,”
said the company’s vision, according to its website.
