According to Alexander Mora, Minister of Foreign Trade, 22 technical committees from Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are studying the country to see if it meets the standards to be part of the 35 member countries.
These committees assess Costa Rica’s performance on issues such as tax, education, health, environment, trade, public governance, statistics, consumer policy and science and technology.
According to Mora, the goal is to complete these assessments for May 2018 and get positive feedback from each of them. The Minister also highlighted the benefits of being part of the OECD to transform public policies in the country.
