The Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) need the help of the citizens in order to obtain new information to clarify the murder of a US businessman named Martin, 74 years old.
This man, originally from Los Angeles, California, lived for several years in Costa Rica, where he established a hotel in Playa Tamarindo-Guanacaste.
On April 1st, 2015, three armed men assaulted the hotel, severely beating him and causing his death days later at a medical center.
According to the report, the loot stolen by the assailants amounted to 16 million colones, which were stored in a safe, in addition to jewelry, computers, and other valuable objects.
According to Alberto Mata, Head of Unit of the Homicide Section, they are
collaborating with the help of the citizens, either through confidential information or directly to one of our delegations, to find the suspects that participated in the homicide of the foreigner.”
Martin was very popular in Santa Cruz, since he promoted social assistance programs aimed at low-income students.
