OIJ investigates Canadian death in an apartment

The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) is investigating the death of a 78-year-old Canadian named Roger Paul Limimana, after having found his body in an apartment located in Nicoya, Guanacaste. This was reported by the OIJ through its Press Department.

Yesterday at about 5:30 p.m. Paul was found dead, it is said to have been a natural death; However, the body was transferred to the Judicial Morgue and we have to wait for the autopsy result,

added the OIJ.

The event happened last Sunday in Barrio La Cananga in Nicoya, when the emergency was reported to 911.

There have been several similar cases of Canadian people who die in the same sector of the Guanacaste province.

On February 5th, 2019 in La Cruz, Guanacaste, another Canadian died in a hotel in the sector. According to the OIJ, the man was identified as Christopher Jonhson Richard, a 60-year-old Canadian. At that moment, he rushed from a ladder, hit himself on the head and died.

In the 2017, the OIJ had investigated the death of a Canadian tourist named Edmond Shawn Leslie, 42, after a discussion with staff of the hotel Riu in Guanacaste, in Sardinal de Carrillo.

According to the preliminary information compiled by the bailiffs, the man would have had a strong discussion with reception staff to the point that he tried to jump the counter.
