Ombudsman asks the population for responsible use of water

The Ombudsman asked the public to use water responsibly and avoid waste, especially during the dry season.

The institution called to follow best practices to help in times of shortages and rationing:

-Repair faulty installations and leaks.
-Avoid leaving the faucet open while brushing your teeth. This wastes almost 20 liters of water, approximately 5 to 10 liters go to the drain per minute.
-When washing kitchen utensils, close the faucet while soaping dishes. This will avoid waste and save water.
-Avoid watering your garden every day.
-Avoid using drinking water to wash vehicles.
-Do not leave open hoses in the garden or while doing other tasks.
-Use the washing machine with full load. If we wash a garment alone, we can do it in a bucket or select the “low load” option of the washing machine to reduce water consumption.
-In automatic irrigation systems, place rain sensors that interrupt the water supply when there is rainfall.

The Ombudsman made these recommendations during the announcement of supply problems in some areas of the metropolitan area for the coming weeks.
