It has been a month since the National Children’s Hospital (HNN) made an emergency status declaration due to an increase in cases of respiratory diseases in children.
The authorities of the medical center are considering not lifting the state of emergency, since in the last three years, the maximum number of cases is reached in August and extends through October.
On Thursday, the deputy director of HNN, Carlos Jiménez, said that 44% of patients are suffering from respiratory diseases. He said that in the Intensive Care Unit, there are 23 minors, 15 of which require assisted ventilation.
