According to legislator Ottón Solís, the meeting between owners and journalists from Canal 7 and La Nación with politicians from Partido de Liberación Nacional (PLN), where the decision of removing presidential candidate Johnny Araya from the 2014 electoral campaign was made, reveals “intimacy”.
On March 4th, 2014, there was a meeting on Araya’s campaign leader’s house and now presidential candidate for the PLN Antonio Álvarez Desanti. René Picado and Ignacio Santos, president of Televisora de Costa Rica And director of Telenoticias, as well as Manuel Francisco Jiménez and Armando González, executive president and Grupo Nación former general editor participated in the meeting.
