Officials from the Guanacaste Conservation Area (ACG) and the Red Cross are on their way to rescue two officials from the Vulcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica National University (OVSICORI-A), who reported having health problems at Las Pailas, North of Liberia.
Alejandro Masis, director of ACG, explained that the officials were located, but could not descend from the mountains due to health problems.
They were up in the morning because they have earthquakes measuring equipment in Coopelares, up to the crater of the volcano Rincón de la Vieja. But a while ago they let us know they were having problems because of hypothermia.”
