PAC candidate promises to bring 35 thousand electric vehicles

Carlos Alvarado promised to introduce 35 thousand electric vehicles to the country, if he manages to win the Presidency of the Republic. He said that the adoption of electric vehicles to replace conventional ones will be a priority in a possible second administration of the PAC.

Alvarado indicated that this would be the first step towards the resolution of one of the main environmental conflicts in Costa Rica: the emission of polluting gases from transport. According to Alvarado, it is essential to create alliances between the public sector and the agencies that commercialize conventional vehicles to implement specialized electrical technology workshops, have the inventory of spare parts and train national technicians to lighten and guarantee the transition.

He added that in this framework of partnerships it is essential that the eight electricity distributors operating in the country join efforts to finalize a map of electric stations to turn the country into a territory with 100% availability of public fast charging points.
