PAC says Fabricio Alvarado threatens the TSE

The Citizen Action Party (PAC) denounced on Monday alleged threats to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) by the National Restoration Party (PRN), its presidential candidate, Fabricio Alvarado, and its legislators in a secret meeting.

In a press conference, the candidate for the vice presidency of the Republic, Epsy Campbell, and the future head of the political group, Víctor Morales Mora, questioned the demonstrations of Fabricio Alvarado, some members of his campaign and evangelical leaders.

In the activity, the former magistrate José Manuel Arroyo was present, who joined the criticism. PAC leaders questioned the demonstrations of Fabricio Alvarado, his elected legislators and a group of evangelical pastors at a secret meeting at the Tibás International Bible Temple on March 16th.

At the meeting, the presidential candidate of National Restoration said that the TSE has wanted to put a gag on them, referring to the ruling by which his political group was censured for appealing to religious reasons in the campaign.

In the activity, Pastor Reynaldo Salazar, leader of the temple, said they had to put the TSE in place and a bill to regulate the electoral body.

Campbell described the demonstrations as an absolute questioning of the democratic institutionality of Costa Rica.

Morales Mora expressed concern about the demonstrations at the secret meeting. Former Judge Arroyo maintained that the TSE is responsible for serving as arbitrator in the elections.
