For the Citizen Action Party time does not seem to be an enemy, or so it seems. The pre-candidates for National Liberation, Christian Social Unity and other parties are very active, whereas for PAC the names are hardly rumors.
Epsy Campbell and Deputy Minister of Labor, Carlos Alvarado, emerge as possible alternatives to fight for the presidency in 2018. However, so far there is nothing official.
Within the same party they are emphatic that next month they will clarify everything, at the end of the term to leave governmental positions in order to participate in the campaign.
We will not know who will participate until February 3rd,”
said Margarita Bolaños, president of the PAC.
For Bolaños, such decisions are well thought out by the candidates and she will announce the names after measuring forces in the cantonal assemblies and in the process of renewal of authorities.
The pre-election dates are almost defined, but must be approved by the National Assembly and also by the Internal Electoral Tribunal.
What is clear is that the inscriptions of pre-candidacies they would be made in March.
The National Assembly session will be held on January 21st to set the dates for registration and submission of pre-candidates, as well as the dates for the internal convention.
