PANI asks to protect identity of survivor of Liberia massacre

The National Children’s Trust (PANI) requested the protection of the identity and image of the 14-year old girl who survived the massacre in Liberia in Guanacaste, in which five young people died.

Otherwise, said the institution, they would be violating image, honor and privacy rights of the young woman, established in the Code of Children and Adolescents.

Article 27 of said Code establishes the prohibition of publishing, reproducing, selling or using images or photographs of minors when they are involved in matters of criminal nature, contravention or when it goes against moral standards.

Nor can the name or other personal data be published, except for judicial authorization based on reasons of public safety.

PANI is trying to protect the minor and only survivor of this painful massacre.

After being wounded in the neck, like the rest of the victims, she tried to flee. She was transferred to the local hospital by the Red Cross and underwent surgery. Now she is recovering, heavily guarded by the Police.
