PANI assisted 4 minors for drug use in Palmares

Palmares parties began last Thursday and the National Children’s Trust (PANI) already reports four children treated for drug use.

Yorlenny Mora, regional director of the entity in Alajuela, said that these children have -mostly- 15 years old and had no adult supervision.

If they are intoxicated, we coordinate with the Red Cross and health care, we locate the parents and we deliver the minor to them with the corresponding precautions,”

said Mora.

In all cases, a follow-up is carried out in the local office, in order to determine the risk in which the minors may be.

According to the official, in this type of situation there is no distinction of social class and it does not necessarily happen only to disintegrated families.

Mora called on the parents to re-think the freedom they give to their children and to also evaluate their companions to such events.
