Sandra Piszk, legislator from the National Liberation Party, told the President of the Republic she maintains her composure and that everyone else should do the same.
The president called on the legislator and asked her to look in the mirror and review her actions while serving as Minister of Labor before criticizing him.
Solís gave the remarks after Piszk said that the government kneeled down before trade unions by recalling from Parliament’s extraordinary sessions the bill that aims to order six salary caps in the public sector.
I said what I said and I said it with all due respect. It seems to me that the political reality is more than obvious,
replied Piszk.
In addition, Rosibel Ramos from the Christian Social Unity Party (PUSC) also reacted to the President’s remarks. Solís asked lawmakers like Ramos to stop tarnishing democratic institutions by asking him to leave office before the end of his term.
We do not have a President who makes decisions. There is no Minister of the Presidency to appear here in the Legislative Assembly. The President of the Republic does not meet with legislators. He withdraws the most important project for public employment. So why do we want a President who does not make decisions? If he is afraid, he has to leave,
