3 years ago, Henry Chavarría and Mariela Calvo were eating a barbecue with friends.
Chicken, meat, some vegetables, a nice chat and Coronado’s cool weather were part of a typical meeting but thanks to a prank, they found the recipe that feeds them today, their small business Pizza Grill.
A friend told me: make some pizza dough and put it on the grill,
declared Chavarría. They took out Mariela’s mother’s cookbook; they prepared the dough and made their first pizza.
One part got burned, another got shattered, but the one part that did survive the invention was delicious.
In this way, Pizza Grill was born: a family business dedicated to grilled pizza and a catering service which innovates with their famous product.
The company arrived at the perfect time. Mariela was dismissed and since then she dedicated herself to make and sell pastries, whose recipes are also written in Doña Gilda’s book, her mother.
A year later, Henry got fired. The marriage was going through a really difficult time when they remembered that piece of grilled pizza that had survived. They changed the mix 3 times and achieved their goal.
Now, months after their first step, they offer 85 varieties of this traditional, Italian dish.
They have an express service, and they intend to open their first restaurant in Sabanilla before December. If you want to try them now, call to 88108001.
