Poás Volcano shows constant activity

Poás volcano, located in Alajuela, erupted four times between Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), the first event was occurred at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, followed by another eruption at 7:30 p.m.

On Thursday, the first eruption occurred at 1:26 a.m. and the second at 8:23 a.m.

The institution clarified that the volcano is emitting just steam and water for the moment. Access to this National Park was closed for a few hours on Wednesday as a security measure.
