The officers were arrested in Peñas Blancas.
Two police officers in La Cruz, Guanacaste have been arrested by judicial police and are accused of taking bribes from food vendors operating in the border area. The investigation was started after three food vendors brought a complaint before the attorney general in Liberia. It is believed that the officers saw increased holiday traffic at the border as a reason to shake down vendors.
