Security forces warn of peddling scams
Police are seeing several common scams in the streets of San Jose. Among street vendors these include selling fake gold jewelry or boxes of appliances filled with cement. Also popular is a scam where a person asks another to cash a check, usually offered with some item for security, which turns out to be worthless.
