Prendas: “The government changed the end use of more than $ 3 million”

Legislator Karla Prendas said that the government changed the end use of more than $ 3 million aimed at improving Manuel Antonio National Park infrastructure, located in Quepos.

Prendas declared that the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) reformulated the destination of these resources, which were donated to the Government of Costa Rica, and assigned them to purchase equipment for protected areas, as confirmed by Edgar Gutiérrez, hierarch of the institution.

This is not only about Puntarenas, but about tourism, environment and economy. I regret that it was not a priority for the Government and the donation was used to buy equipment, when in fact, there is an infrastructure emergency in Manuel Antonio Park and in San Lucas,

stated the legislator.

According to the congresswoman, the government has acted with lack of transparency and has not provided all the information on this issue.

Manuel Antonio National Park faces a deterioration in its infrastructure and even the Ministry of Health gave it a period of three months to make improvements.
