President Solís is in Ecuador

President of the Republic Luis Guillermo Solís arrived in Ecuador, where he was received the president Rafael Correa and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility Guillaume Long.

The Maritime Boundary Agreement between Costa Rica and Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean was signed on April 21st, 2014 in Quito, Ecuador, by the former foreign ministers Enrique Castillo and Ricardo Patiño.

With the signing of this agreement, both countries may apply the regulations included in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which promotes peaceful coexistence in seas and oceans, and the equitable and efficient use of its resources, among other benefits.
