Priest who tried to flee the country after abuse accusations is now in the hospital

On Tuesday night, the priest Jorge Arturo Morales Salazar, who was in preventive prison for a report of alleged sexual abuse, was transferred to the emergency room of Calderón Guardia Hospital.

The Ministry of Justice confirmed that Morales suffered a “diabetes episode” and remains in that medical center.

Last Friday , March 22nd, the Criminal Court of the First Judicial Circuit of San José, imposed three months of preventive prison on the priest, who was arrested at the border of Paso Canoas, while trying to leave the country, despite two investigations against him for alleged sexual abuse against a minor.

Morales Salazar, remained at the San José Institutional Care Center, better known as the San Sebastián prison.
