The bill that aims to encourage the use of electric transport took a positive step on Wednesday in the Legislative Assembly.
The Congressional Government and Administration Commission approved a text with modifications to exempt electric vehicles or zero emission vehicles from the payment of sales taxes, selective consumption taxes and customs taxes.
It also rejected the motions presented by Otto Guevara, from the Libertarian Movement, who intended to include other automotive technologies in the package of exemptions granted by the project.
Legislator Marcela Guerrero, from the Citizen Action Party (PAC), who proposed the initiative, explained that the definition of an electric vehicle was modified, only 100% electric vehicles were left, and other zero-emission technologies were included.
But we agree on exclusively exonerating vehicles that do not have a combustion engine,”
said Guerrero.
Another change is the inclusion of used electric vehicles up to five years old. In addition, vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, bicycles, minibuses, buses, trucks, trains or any other means defined in the regulations are maintained.
They also included a new article on technical training for the National Institute of Learning (INA) to prepare technicians, mechanics and the like for the maintenance and repair of electric vehicles.
The text establishes that only the spare parts related to the operation of the electric motor and the batteries will be exempt from the payment of taxes.
