The employees of the public sector will go on vacation from December 21st and won’t go back to work until January 7th, 2019, according to the Presidential House.
On Tuesday, the Council approved the directive that establishes the closing of the institutions of the central government and attached organs, autonomous institutions and public companies of the State for these holidays.
The Minister of the Presidency, Rodolfo Piza, said that officials will be granted vacations on December 24th, 26th, 27th, 28th and 31st, as well as 2nd, 3rd and 4th of January.
The government empowered the heads of each institution to take measures to ensure the opening of those offices that, by their nature, require the continuity of their services.
So far the government has not stated when it will pay the bonus to public employees. Piza insisted that the government will do so within the deadline established by law, which sets December 20th as the deadline for disbursement.
