Public Force has seized more than one ton of drug in the Pacific

Central Pacific Public Force has seized more than a ton of drug so far this year.

According to the Regional Directorate of the Public Force in the Central Pacific, from January to August 2017 the institution has seized 1,060 kilograms of cocaine, as well as more than 11 kilograms of compressed marijuana. These amounts have been confiscated in several actions carried out in cantons such as Garabito and Quepos.

In the fight against the local sale of drugs, the officers were able to seize 6,324 doses of crack, 20,582 doses of marijuana and 2,629 doses of cocaine. Of the 4,203 arrests made this year, more than three thousand are due to violations of the Psychotropic Law.
