Partido Unión Social Cristiana (PUSC) proposed to transfer 10 billion colones from the public debt management to the National Emergency Commission (CNE) to assist victims and communities affected by hurricane Otto.
PUSC presented a motion to the extraordinary budget which is under discussion in the Committee on Finance Issues from the Legislative Assembly.
If the iniciative is successful, resources will be used to repair rural roads and to reconstruct houses. In addition, they money will also be invested in restoring water service and assisting families.
According to CNE data, 10 people died because of the hurricane. Furthermore, it directly affected 10,831 people, 461 towns and 1,598 homes.
