Rain flooded houses in Alajuelita and Escazu

The Fire Department reported that heavy rains on May, 16th flooded homes in Alajuelita and Escazú Puntarenas, mainly due to clogged sewers and overflowing ditches.

To address the emergency, firefighters sent an extinguishing unit and a rescue unit to the locations.

The National Meteorological Institute (IMN) reported that rainy conditions could continue until the evening.

According to the IMN, the regions with the highest probability of being heavily affected are Pacífico Sur, Pacífico Central and Valle Central. Other areas will take less impact.
