Rains caused 7 emergencies in an hour and a half

From 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Fire Department took care of seven emergencies in San José, due to the heavy rains that hit the Central Valley.

Fortunately, after the floods and landslides, there were no people injured.

Barrio México, near the Children’s Hospital, Corazon de Jesús, Tibás and Coronado were the most affected areas.

In the latter community, in the canton of Vásquez de Coronado, there are still about 55 people in shelters after the landslide of Wednesday afternoon.

More than 50 liters of water per square meter poured down in the Central Valley, twice the normal record on a rainy day, according to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN).
