The victims of a rapist who was attacking in San José were mainly young female athletes and bystanders.
They walked through the districts of Hatillo and Uruca when they were intercepted by the subject named Flores. The man was looking for women who exercised between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. In addition, he attacked women who walked in those sectors after 8 p.m.
Between May and October 2017, the judicial authorities report eight rapes and four sexual abuses that would have been committed by Flores in San José.
He threatened them with a firearm, took them to dark areas, stripped them of their belongings and committed sexual abuse,”
said Angie Bartels from the Integrity, Trafficking and Personnel Section of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ).
Flores was captured on Tuesday in El Coyol de Alajuela while he was working. He only has a judicial record for illegally carrying weapons. In addition, the man is credited with aggravated robberies, as he seized the personal objects of the victims.
