Recovering communities affected by hurricane Otto will cost 130 billion colones

Recovering communities affected by hurricane Otto will require an investment of near 130 billion colones.

This is shown in the General Emergency Recovery Plan, which was approved by the Board of Directors of the National Emergency Commission (CNE).

Out of that amount, 96.5 billion colones will be taken from the National Emergency Fund and 33.5 billion will come from the Ordinary Resources of institutions or ministries.

declared Luis Guillermo Solís, President of the Republic.

In addition, it is necessary to take into account the costs of restoring the damages in some communities of Pérez Zeledón, Buenos Aires and Coto Brus.

The main investment will be made in the road network and river work areas, whose the amount reaches 97 billion colones.

Regarding housing and the agricultural sector, the Executive will invest 3 billion and 6 billion colones, respectively.
