According to the Red Cross, more than 1300 lives were violently extinguished in the last 12 months in the national territory. The figure exceeds the 2016 statistics by 66 cases.

Nearly 500 of these deaths were caused by traffic accidents. This historic figure also broke the national record of 456 registered in 2016.
On the other hand, at the scene of the events, the Red Cross declared 317 people dead after they received lethal bullet wounds, and 201 people died due to traumatic conditions, falls and blows. There were also 116 victims of water accidents.
