Redondo: “INCOFER wasted 25 million colones”

Mario Redondo denounced that the Costa Rican Railways Institute (INCOFER) wasted ¢ 25 million when hiring an international consultant for railway modernization.

Redondo said that consultant John Wiley Orrison, who was presented as an expert on the subject, received $ 45,000, but he made no relevant contribution to the transformation of the country’s railway system.

Redondo requested INCOFER’s CEO Christian Vargas a report on the program to improve mobility in the Greater Metropolitan Area, because Orrison’s contract expired on December 23rd, 2016. However, there are not important improvements.

According to Redondo, Vargas admitted that INCOFER Executive Presidency informed the consultant about a procedure for breach of contract.
