The top representatives of the police forces of the region are gathered in the country in ordinary meeting of the Commission Chiefs and Directors of Police of Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Colombia.
In the session, different strategies to combat organized crime are analyzed. Likewise, the migratory phenomena and crimes such as human trafficking, drug trafficking and money laundering are analyzed.
Walter Lazo, regional head of Interpol in Central America, said that they seeks to fight transnational crime and stressed the importance of reaching agreements to make the region a safer place.
The Costa Rican delegation is headed by the Security Minister, Michael Soto, and the director of the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ), Walter Espinoza.
