Representatives of 21 municipal police met to discuss a draft document that proposes steps to strengthen these police forces. The proposal will be submitted to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).
The National Network of Municipal Police held the meeting in La Unión de Cartago. Marcelo Solano, head of the municipal police of San José, explained the activity was also carried out in order to support the proposal of security for the residents of that county.
Solano explained that the participants are municipalities with public safety projects. The idea was to accompany La Unión to build its municipal police.
We will also get to know the draft for strengthening municipal police, which we hope will be feasible sot that the municipal system finally has a regulatory framework that allows us to transform the concept of security in the country and also give resources to municipalities, so they can build projects for local police,”
said Solano in a video posted on his Facebook.
