Authorities from the Integration Health Care in Desamparados assure that the patient left without having finished the consultation. This is how they justify the alleged lack of patient care, a situation that was evidenced in the video recorded by David Salazar Muñoz.
The video and Salazar itself indicated that the situation was distressing, because the patient was in a bad condition.
He had a terrible chest pain and his hands were numb. He felt really bad. I was very scared. The first thing they tell you is to get help,
said Salazar.
He assured that he took his friend to the Marcial Clinic in Fallas. Upon their arrival, no one was there:
There was no one in the clinic. The paramedic who was at the entrance told me that my friend was wrong, He asked me not to get him off the car (…) The paramedic called the doctor and no he didn’t even come up, he did not take the signs and what he told me was to keep him waiting,
They asked him to fill in some files but no one helped them. The hospital was empty and nurses were hanging out and having fun.
Authorities from the Marcial Ciinic insisted that the patient was being treated as Salazar recorded the video, but he assured that he was sent out of the clinic and that his friend had gotten into an office but he was not being treated and they decided to leave the place.
They went to San Juan de Dios Hospital, where his friend Andrey was assisted and in less than 15 minutes: he was injected. According to the doctors, he had an attack. Now, authorities from the Marcial Clinic called Salazar to threaten him and they assured that they are going to sue him.
