An agreement between the Welfare Association for the Elderly San Francisco de Asís from the community and the Joint Institute for Social Aid (IMAS) will improve the quality of life the senior citizens of Quepos with the construction of a new home.
With this project, the facilities of the association will be moved to a land donated to the town of Naranjito, as they currently stand in an area affected by flooding from Paquita River.
IMAS will provide ¢350 million, but the donation will be made in 2 parts. The first ¢210 million will be for the start of the construction, and the remaining ¢140 million will be conditional upon the correct implementation of the investment plan, supervised by the Regional Social Development Area of Puntarenas.
This money comes from the community infrastructure program, which seeks to provide financial resources to community organizations duly accredited to supply the absence or deficiency in any of the basic services through construction projects.
This year, the goal is running 87 socio-productive, community, equipment or social welfare projects, especially in territories with poverty and extreme poverty.
