A municipal female official filed a complaint for sexual harassment against Gerardo Oviedo, Santa Ana’s reelected mayor, and thus the Council asked the Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones to dismiss him from his position. However, mister Oviedo appealed the decision and the case was referred to the Tribunal Contencioso Administrativo.
TSE’s attorney, Andrei Cambronero, stated this was the first case of its type in the country and that it is impossible to determine how long it will take to reach its conclusion.
